Felt food

I started this small collection of food last fall, after a friend posted the idea on her blog. This stuff can be quite addicting but takes some thought and patience to make it. I've made all my own patterns and have just tried to figure it out as I go, which takes me longer to do, but I've enjoyed it and Katelyn loves to empty the bag and play with it. When she gets her own kitchen, she will be a busy little cook. (forgive the color and grainy pictures. I had to use my video camera because I was out of batteries for my camera, and it was late in the evening when I took these)

We have a grape juice box, complete with straw. She likes to pull out the straws in her real juice boxes, but this one is a big no-no to pull out.

Muffins complete with muffin tin. I've been thinking about adding some blueberries or chocolate chips to these plain muffins.

We have fried eggs, whole eggs and bacon

Bread with peanut butter and jam

Tomatoes and two kinds of lettuce

I started off with carrots and strawberries. The most time consuming things, not that I knew it when I started

Swiss and Cheddar cheese. The pink oval in the first picture could be some type of cold cut for sandwiches.

I just get my ideas from pictures I've found and try to make up my own pattern. Future projects include: banana, hamburger patty and bun, chicken drumstick, breadsticks, pancakes with syrup and little pats of butter, watermelon slices, an apple juice box and an oreo cookie. We'll see how many I get done, but it has been fun and something to do on these cold days.

Great job!! I would love to make some food as well, but Koen has so much plastic stuff and he's kind of out of the stage of playing kitchen now. Maybe when Mya is older I'll make some for her!
