Super Bowl Weekend has come and gone, this was the latest excitement we've had. We had our pastor and some friends over for the big game. By a few friends I mean 6 others and our little living room/dining room was full. Not to mention the table was loaded with the non-nutritious football food. I think fun was has by all except by maybe the two other wives there who are not football fanatics. Myself, I can watch a game and get the gist of what they're doing. At least this gave was a close one and it took till the last 2 minutes for the underdogs to win it.

We've since started going back to our home church of Victory Fellowship and have been welcomed back with open arms. Last July we left to fill the worship position at New Life church in Powell, but after a few weeks we felt it just wasn't working out and I really missed Victory. Of course now with Victory being in Cody and living in Powell, this does mean a 25 min commute 6 days a week since I still work in Cody. For things in the evening I just stay in town, so it's not too bad. Tuesday the church is planning a valentine's banquet at a restaurant and I've been recruited to help with the decorating, so I've been scouring the internet for tasteful ideas. No cardboard cutouts or tacky decorations for me but we'll see how it goes.

Our next couple of weekends are already booked for both of us. The weekend of the 16th, Jason is on a weekend retreat to a church in town that is kind of a grown-up lock-down called Walk to Amaeus (sorry about spelling) It's a secretive kind of deal where a lot of details aren't given out but it's supposed to strengthen your walk with the Lord. They take away cell phones, watches, entertainment etc. so it's just you and God and a bunch of other people. They do all the men the first weekend and the ladies are the next weekend, so I'll be going to that one. That same weekend as mine, Jason hopes to go to Rapid City with some guys to go to a men's Conference hosted by a friend of ours. So they will have a mens weekend doing manly things like skeet shooting, mountain biking, ( I know, at the end of February it doesn't make a lot of sense but that's guys for ya) and other things. Hopefully he can go.

I Have A Maid!

I was very pleasantly surprised yesterday with a phone call from my husband. Being the great guy that he is, he informed me that he had cleaned the whole house! Of course, being just the two of us and not liking any clutter, there wasn't much to clean, but he did find things to clean. So upon my arrival home, he had to give me the whole tour and point out everything he had done. (It's so funny how guys need to show us everything they've done) Of course I was impressed because he did jobs I haven't gotten to or hate to do. Now I make it sound like a don't clean, but I do clean very faithfully but sometimes you just don't want to scrub the shower every week, and that's what he tackled and more. Mr. Organizer went through cabinets and got rid of or organized cleaning supplies, did some laundry (which was all done Saturday) vacuumed, did the dishes and cleaned the bathroom all while I was at work and feeding horses.
I do have to say that I'm a very lucky girl to have found such a clean guy. He's done a lot of cleaning on his own and likes everything to be in order. Needless to say,
I AM LOVED.

The Snow is Falling!

It has been threatening to snow here for the last couple of days and last night, the clouds finally dropped their cargo. Yes it did make driving a little scary when you can't see the lines, but I made it. I asked God, "Please give us a couple of inches!" This morning there was a couple of inches on the ground! Okay maybe 2 or 3 but that's still a couple of inches in Powell. Cody this morning had nothing, but now it has snowed and stopped, snowed and stopped. It was nice not to have to worry about icy roads but the brown and yellow was getting a little old. Now the white kind of gives us something clean to look at for a while.

I've started going to a Beth Moore bible study at church last Thursday. If you've never done a Beth Moore bible study, DO ONE! This is my 4th. We're doing Believing God and it's challenging me to really, really believe God and what he says he can do and who he really is. Very often, we say we believe but do we really believe? Are we willing to hand everything about our lives over and let God fix our worries and problems? This study is a lot about our own personal faith and building our faith based on how God really is, not by what we've been told. I've also challenged myself to take this seriously. With these books, you have 5 days of homework before the next meeting. I would get into it and do it faithfully but then I would wait and do 2 on Monday, Tuesday and hopefully be done by Thursday. Because I want to grow closer to the Lord, I want to do one everyday. I want to crave my time with the Lord instead of doing it out of obligation or not doing it at all.

Anyways, I just challenge all of you to make your time with the Lord a top priority in your own lives.

It's been a busy but good Christmas vacation for us. We were able to go to my parents again for Christmas. We left the 22nd and made the 13 hr drive. The roads were good but we did hit a snow storm across the border and had to drive pretty slow because of the heavy ground drifting and the darkness. The 23rd we made it to my dad's family for a gathering surprising many of them. The 24th we did the presents with my family. When we were little, we would do the gifts the 25th but because my sister had to be on call and had to go back to work, we did it the 24th so she could be there. The 25th we went to my Grandparents and spent the day with them. We got to meet my cousin stephanie's husband Russ. They got married the 15th of December. We weren't able to make the wedding and decided instead to go up for Christmas. What's funny is Russ and I went to high school together.
The 26th we made the trip to Winnipeg with my parents and braved the malls for the boxing day sales. The rest of the days we went to Winkler and shopped or saw family and friends.
A highlight for me was something I had wanted to do but wasn't sure how I was going to do it. I had really wanted to go snowmobiling and to my surprise and delight, my girlfriend Connie's parents had just bought one. So Sunday she drove to my parents and picked me up.
Together we hit the trail that runs right past my parents place. We probably went about 15 miles and turned around. It was pretty cold but it was so much fun, a great calm day to do it. We even got Jason out of the chair and outside to enjoy a little fun in the snow.




Our dog Tucker sure enjoyed running along the sled. I sure do miss the snow considering it's January and we have NO snow.
















We left the 31st to go to Brandon to see my aunt Susan who was suddenly hospitalized on Christmas. So we visited and stayed the night and kept Uncle Pete company. We left the 1st to head home and it's sure good to be home again.

One More Week!

I don't know who else needs a break, but I need one! One more week of school and it's finals week so it's alot of review and then 2 days of finals. In other words, pretty easy for me.
I can't believe that Christmas is here already. It really doesn't look like it a whole lot other than the decorations that people have put out. I would love a big snow storm to dump a lot of snow since we don't have anything but a dusting of it.

This weekend was great! We did absolutely nothing but hang out together. Saturday we went to the local coffee shop, went to see Alvin and The Chipmunks ( Which by the way is a great kids movie and some laughs for the adults, the chipmunks were so cute and funny) and just vegged in front of the tube the rest of the time. It was just fun to be together and laugh at and with each other.

To all the Canadians, we're not able to make it this weekend but we'll plan on coming for Christmas now. I have a whole week off and we'll have more time to spend than if we came quickly for the weekend. See you then.

December Already?

I can't believe that the Christmas season is upon us already and we're having 50 degree weather! (10C for the Canadians) There is no snow on the ground because it's all melted, at least in town, the mountains have some. However, my wreath with frosted snow on it is happily hanging from my door. The annual Christmas tree hunt has not happened yet, even though I've been in the mood for a tree. Hopefully this Saturday we'll make a go at it with a bunch of friends and the dogs and just make a day of it. No fake trees for us (even though they're so much easier to take up and down and they're fuller) We're making memories.

Jason had a day off yesterday and to my surprise went to work mudding our laundry room and tried out a new texture. It looked really good and he was so surprised that I was happy with it. There was some beige wallpaper with small designs of burgandy, blue and green on it. It was livable and not loud at all but we wanted something different. So he put mud on the wallpaper. Much less work than removing paper. Now I have to pick a paint color.

We're are planning to go to Canada for my cousin's wedding next weekend. That will be our Christmas with my family this year. What is everyone getting their significant other? Jason wants a PS3 but we'll have to wait and see what "santa" is going to bring.
